Born in Eastern europe to a Polish Catholic mother and a Muslim Tartar father. Spent 7 years as rfugees after WWII in Germany before emigrating to the US in 1950 at age ten. Flunked out of WPI after two years. Enlisted in the US Army and served three years with one year in France. Volunteered for duty and served 1 year in Vietnam. Worked in thin film optics for 45 years as a technician, superviser, machanical designer, process engineer, production manager, product engineer and CEO. Retired in 2010. I have a wife, two doughters two grand sons and two grand doughters (added one more granddaughter in Sept 2011)
